It will be exciting to observe the great variety of jungle fruits, wild meats of the &#8220;mountain&#8221; and the great variety of Amazonian fish such as paiche, dorado and goons. We will also walk through the famous \u201cPaquito Passage&#8221;, the Belen Market lane known for its exotic medicinal plants, herbal tonics, and aphrodisiacs.<br \/>\nLater we will go to the center of the city to visit the colorful and busy Plaza de Armas, and then on to the Tarapaca and Boulevard Malec\u00f3n along the river\u2019s edge. We will finish the tour by visiting the famous Historical Museum Boat &#8220;AYAPUA&#8221; (1906)[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space]<div class=\"qodef-accordion-holder qodef-ac-default  qodef-accordion qodef-ac-boxed  clearfix\">\n\t<p class=\"qodef-accordion-title\">\n    <span class=\"qodef-accordion-mark\">\n\t\t<span class=\"qodef_icon_plus ion-chevron-down\"><\/span>\n\t\t<span class=\"qodef_icon_minus ion-chevron-up\"><\/span>\n\t<\/span>\n\t<span class=\"qodef-tab-title\">Main attractions:<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"qodef-accordion-content\">\n\t<div class=\"qodef-accordion-content-inner\">\n\t\t[vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Plaza 28 de Julio<\/strong>: The main attraction of this city\u2019s largest plaza is the locomotive Morona Cocha, a legacy of the rubber era. Trains were brought to Iquitos from Europe in 1905, by entrepreneur Mr. Julio Cesar Arana del \u00c1guila. The train system was made up of the Moronococha, Sachachorro, and Punchana locomotives, which pulled flatbed cars or boxes to transport the packages of import and export merchandise. The locomotive was also used on Sundays and holidays by the public, and its route was between the streets Omagua (today San Mart\u00edn) and Jir\u00f3n Lima (today Prospero).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mercado de Bel\u00e9n<\/strong>: its main attraction is the Paquito Passage, known as the natural pharmacy of the Amazon where we will find the great variety of medicinal plants and special preparations used ancestrally by the Amazonian people.<\/li>\n<li>Plaza de Armas: We will reach the Plaza de Armas through Calle Prospero where we will pass by several historical mansions such as Casa Cohen, Chalet Morey, Casa Morey, Casa Irapay and others. In the Plaza de Armas we will see the Obelisk of Heroes and learn its particular history, as well as the surroundings of the Plaza, the Mother Church, the famous Iron House, the Fitzcarrald house, the house, among others.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Malec\u00f3n Tarapaca and Boulevard<\/strong>: The main attraction is the former Hotel Palace, considered the greatest architectural jewel of the City of Iquitos. Its construction began in 1908 and was inaugurated on June 10, 1912. It features an eclectic architectural style. Those responsible for its construction and beautification were the engineer Samuel Young and the Spanish builder Jos\u00e9 Atimira. Still to this day, we can see a hall, its beautiful tiles and wrought iron that were brought from Europe.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Boat Museum Ayapua<\/strong>: On the way to the boat museum we will have the opportunity to take pictures along the Boulevard. We will see the Church of Consolation. We will also see the famous historical Casa Morey, its first owner was the rubber tapper Luis F.Morey. The Historical Boat Museum is aboard the Ayapua Ship, built in Hamburg, Germany (1906). First, we will visit the Native Community of the Boras, where we will participate in their dances and traditions. Continuing the adventure we next visit &#8220;Pillpintuwasi&#8221;, a zoo nursery and butterfly farm. There we will enjoy the gardens where communities of butterflies reproduce; and meet a real jaguar, the &#8220;otorongo&#8221; baptized with the name of Pedro.<\/p>\n<p>Upon returning by boat, we cannot stop marveling at the coming together of two majestic rivers, the Nanay with the mighty Amazon. \u00a0With good luck. we will observe the gray and pink river dolphins. There, we will see a variety of species of monkeys of the Amazon area. For example, we will see the spider monkey, better known as the &#8220;Maquisapa&#8221;; also the &#8220;howler&#8221; monkey, or Cotomono; and others who are in the Rescue Center. These monkeys live free on the trees, and will often come to play with us. Back to Iquitos we will make a stop in Barrio Florido, where the Pedrito Farm is located and where you can feed the lizards and the biggest fish of the Amazon, the \u201cPaiche\u201d, which can grow up to 3 meters.
