Expressly designed to allow our guests (groups starting from 2 people) to connect with nature at its purest in an exclusive and participative experience both in the splendorous Pacaya Samiria National Reserve and in our Private Reserve (130 hectares of primary forest) enjoying its biodiversity and becoming first-hand witnesses of the activities that are needed to ensure its conservation and sustainability.

    • Lima/Iquitos: take flights arriving before 09:00 am

  • The last day includes lunch, depending on the departure flight time. If there is no time for lunch before the flight, there will be no discount or reimbursement.

  • Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge has launched the “Rescue of Princess Amana” an interactive game supported by augmented reality technology that has been specially designed for children and teenagers. DAY 1. Iquitos/Ecolodge

  • Welcome at the airport or city of Iquitos. Transfer by private vehicle to the Bosque de Huayo, a local biopark known for its species conservation work.
  • Transfer to the port of Nauta to board our private boats.
  • Navigation through the Marañón river. On the way to our ecolodge, we will make an intermediate stop at Fundo Casual, a tropical forest run by local residents, where we will see different species of wildlife.
  • Arrival at our EcoLodge, where we will be received by a member of the Kukama kukamiria ethnic group who will perform a ritual to prepare us to get all the energy and strength of nature using fresh leaves of plants with medicinal or healing properties and huayruro seeds packed in jute bags.
Active sustainability
  • Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge invites all its visitors to be part of its efforts to preserve the environment, local values and culture. In this sense, our visitors will be invited to choose one task within a set of sustainable tasks to be carried out throughout their stay at our ecolodge. Some examples:
    • Plant a tree or plant and investigate its functionality
    • Species counting in our botanical garden
    • Clean an area or trail of our botanical garden
    • Develop new species identification posters
    • Draw or paint scenes from the jungle (contemplation)
    • Sustainable traveler chronicles (assigned topic)
    • Upload wildlife photos to Instagram
    • Collect flowers and prepare floral arrangements
    • Learning of 20 kukama words.
  • We will also make our first night tour of the Private Reserve that surrounds our Ecolodge to observe frogs, tarantulas, insects and other species of night habits. Overnight.

DAY 2: Private Reserve/ Experiental Gastronomy

  • Before breakfast we will carry out a preparation ritual to capture all the energy of Mother Nature, using fruits such as passion fruit or jungle leaves such as the well-known mucura.
  • After breakfast we will take a guided interpretation walk through our Private Reserve to enjoy the great biodiversity of our primary forest (unaltered and preserved in its purest form with more than 300 species of flora and fauna).
  • During the tour, we will have the possibility of watching some of the 107 species of birds that we have registered in our forest.
  • We will conclude our tour along the primate route
  • Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge offers our visitors a new gastronomic experience that will allow them to be an active part of the process of preparing representative dishes of the Amazonian cuisine such as Patarashka (fish “a lo jibaro”), Tacacho with Cecina in cocona sauce and others. Our visitors will start their experience by collecting and selecting inputs and ingredients from our forest, their processing using ancient techniques such as the tushpa (Amazon barbecue), food styling and tasting.
  • Execution of the sustainable tasks assigned on day 1.
  • After dinner, exclusive talks on the Amazon Cosmic vision, narration of myths and legends of the Peruvian Amazon mythology and a blossoming bath. Overnight.

DAY 3: Pacaya Samiria National Reserve / San Jorge Community

  • Departure in our private boats to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, Nauta Caño area. On our way watching of pink and gray dolphins is guaranteed. While navigating, one of the first things that will catch our attention is how the water faithfully reflects the sky, clouds, banks of vegetation and trees giving us the feeling of traveling between mirrors (that's why Pacaya Samiria is also known as "The Forest of mirrors"), as well as the observation of the great variety of local flora and fauna.
  • In the afternoon we will visit the "Community of San Jorge" (located 20 minutes from our ecolodge) where we will be received by the APU (community leader) who will invite us to interact with community members to understand their ancestral way of life and customs.
  • Special mention to our visit to the Kukama Kukamiria Women's Craft Center (Pua Kamatawara) that was promoted and supported by Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge. This visit will also include participation of our visitors in a workshop to create delicate works using unique materials such as Wingo, natural fibers such as Chambira and local seeds. Artisanal piranha fishing using two techniques (rod and trap) that local fishers use only for subsistence purposes. Once the sustainable tasks assigned on day 1 are completed, our visitors will present their results.
  • After dinner, our visitors will participate in a ceremony held at our Club House where the Mayantu (one of the characters of the Amazonian mythology) will recognize their efforts in fulfilling sustainable tasks being also invited to signing our Sustainability Book of Honor. Overnight.

DAY 4: Ethnobotanic Route

  • Upon awakening, we will review the fishing traps of the previous day to prepare an Amazon breakfast.
  • To further enrich our experience, our visitors will be invited to tour a sustainable space (ethnobotanical route) recently created, where women of the Kukama Kukamiria ethnic group will share with us their ancestral knowledge regarding the functionalities of at least 10 species of medicinal and food plants of our botanical garden.
  • Then our visitors we will also be invited to participate in the production process of organic products (soaps, natural repellents, clay masks) that we carry out in our lodge. At the end of the tour our visitors will be given a complete set of the produced products.
  • Lunch, free time for personal care and preparation for the trip back to Iquitos. Transfer to the hotel or airport of Iquitos.
  • Detox Breakfast – lunch.

  Payments shall be made according to the following policy:
  • Fit’s to 1-5 passengers, 100% of the booking, max. 30 days after being confirmed by Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge.
  • Groups 6 to more passengers, 50% of the booking, max. 45 days after being confirmed by Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge. The remaining 50% will be paid at least 45 days before the arrival of the group at the lodge. Requests for additional rooms are subject to availability.
  • Last minute bookings (less than one week before the arrival to the Lodge) must be paid 24 hours after making the reservation.
  • If payments are not received on the dates indicated here, the Lodge is free to dispose of non-prepaid bungalows.
CHILDREN’S POLICY
  • Children 1-4 years old can share the bungalow with their parents, so do not pay. Children 5 to 11 years old will have a 40% discount rate base don the number of adult passengers. From 12 years old are charged as an adult.
CANCELLATION POLICY
  • Groups of 1 to 5 people: the cancellation of reservations be made in writing at least 30 days prior to the arrival of guests (see Special Note in high season) and will only be subject to 15% the administrative charges. If the reservation will be canceled after that date, no refund will be made.
  • Groups of 6 or more passengers, the cancellation of reservations be made in writing at least 45 days prior to the arrival of the group (see Special Note in high season) and will only be subject to 15% the administrative charges. If the reservation will be canceled after that date, no refund will be made
Promotional / Special rate Any program with a promotional or special rate is NON-REFUNDABLE. SPECIAL NOTE The  cancellation policy will NOT be applied in offers and promotions where bookings are regarded as NON REFUNDABLE. Therefore no refund will be made in case the client decides to cancel. In high season (long weekends, Easter, Independence Day, Christmas and New Year) reservations that are cancelled will not be refundable. Once booking and payment are confirmed, a full list of passengers with their personal identification data must be sent to Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge. RESPONSIBILITY
